Hi-Tops and Jazz

Simeon Abbott plays keys at The Spill against a backdrop of the best sign in Peterborough. Abbott along with drummer Chris Cawthray and saxophonist Glen Hall (collectively billed as the Chris Cawthray Trio) played a show Saturday afternoon -- a show I helped to organize. The first of many, I hope.

Her Green Party Dress

While in Ottawa we were fortunate enough to snag an invitation to dinner at Jo's house. KKP cooked a mean Thai meal and Jo, not to be outdone, crafted a decadent chocolate and peanut pie for dessert. Afterward, ADF found herself with some energy to burn, so she coaxed us all onto the dance floor. I know she's not even 3 years old, but the girl can dance.

WBC

Sparse crowd on hand for Sunday night's US-Venezuela game at the World Baseball Classic in Toronto. Still had me a great time, though.

Happy Birthday

CC celebrated her thirty-somethingth birthday last weekend, and Kylie and Jo made the trip from Ottawa to help us do it up in style. We had a blast. (Thanks, guys!)

Spring?

Her first chance to wear the ladybug boots grandma and grandpa gave her last fall. Plenty of puddles to splash in (14 degrees!); dare we dream that spring is here? Probably too soon to put the snowsuit away yet.

Visitors

We weren't home from Mexico long before we had a wonderful visit with P&N. They took some time to read a few books with ADF.

The Last Word

Closing the book on the Mexico trip with this sunset over Ajijic. It's back to shots of life at home with the next post. Sigh.
